INDONESIA UPGRADES TO “INTELLIGENT” AIRPORTS 

Indonesia’s state-owned airport operator announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with SITA (a specialist in air transport communications and information technology solutions) to improve services to the more than 49 million passengers at the 13 airports under its management. With a focus on infrastructure, operational efficiency and business intelligence, SITA will enable airport operators to track, manage and share real-time information.

THE RECIPE FOR A CITIZEN-CENTRIC ICT POLICY from MALAYSIA

A citizen-centric ICT policy is one that ensures a balanced socio-economic development in the country by way of bridging the digital divide between communities. It is where the government advocates a more accessible, effective and accountable use of ICT in the effective delivery of services to the public, thus promoting more engagements and transparency in the interaction between the public and the government. Through a process of consultations,  the government hopes to formulate policies that are citizen-centric, inclusive, and relevant.

SOLOMON ISLANDS TO DEVELOP INFORMATION AND DATABASE SYSTEM

The Ministry of Rural Development and Indigenous Affairs is currently developing a new information and database system that seeks to improve the ministry’s system of managing, sharing, and storing information. System should be ready by the second half of this year. “Once the new system becomes fully operational, it would greatly enhance the capacity of the ministry to collect and store data and information and the dissemination of necessary data and information to the country’s fifty constituencies,” Misite’s said in an official statement.

SINGAPORE TO DEVELOP NEW GENERATION SYSTEM FOR GENOME SEQUENCING DATA

Singapore’s key Government research agency, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Data Storage Institute (DSI) has just recently entered a strategic partnership with Hitachi Asia Ltd. to research on a new generation storage system for genome sequencing data. According to an official statement from A*STAR DSI, the new generation storage for genome sequencing data aims to provide useful clinical information and insights into the association of specific genomic variants with diseases. Since genome sequencing data is usually stored electronically and requires a large storage capacity and a large amount of computing power to manipulate the data, the research collaboration between the two organisations will be focused on meeting the high performance and low storage cost demands in storing, accessing, and managing large genome data bases.

ENDONEZYA, AKILLI HAVAALANLARINA KAVUŞUYOR

Endonezya devlet havaalanı işletmeciliği, kendi yönetimi altında bulunan 13 havaalanlarında 49 milyondan fazla yolcuya verilen hizmeti geliştirmek için, hava ulaştırma haberleşme ve bilgi teknolojileri çözümleri alanında uzman olan SITA ile İşbirliği Sözleşmesi imzalandığını duyurdu. Altyapı, operasyonel verimlilik ve iş zekası odaklanılmak suretiyle, SITA, havalimanı işletmecilerine sistemi izleme, yönetme ve gerçek zamanlı bilgi paylaşımı imkanı sağlayacak.

MALEZYA’DAN VATANDAŞ ODAKLI ICT POLİTİKASI İÇİN REÇETE

Vatandaş odaklı bilişim politikası, toplumlar arasındaki sayısal uçurumun kapatılması yoluyla ülke genelinde dengeli bir sosyo-ekonomik gelişme sağlar. Bu durum, halka sunulan hizmetlerde hükümetin daha erişilebilir, verimli ve etkin  BİT kullanımını sağlaması demektir. Böylece,  devlet ile kamu arasındaki etkileşimde daha çok şeffaflık desteklenmiş olur. Konsültasyon süreci boyunca, Malezya hükümeti politikaları vatandaş odaklı, kapsamlı ve ilgili olrak formüle etmeyi düşünmektedir.

SOLOMON ADALARI, BİLGİ ve VERİTABANI SİSTEMİ GELİŞTİRİYIOR

Solomon Adaları Kırsal Kalkınma Bakanlığı şu anda bakanlığın sisteminin yönetilmesi, paylaşılması ve bilgi depolanmasını iyileştirecek yeni bir bilgi ve veri tabanı sistemi geliştirmektedir.  Sistemin bu yılın ikinci yarısında hazır olması planlanmıştır. Resmi bir açıklamada, “Yeni sistem tam olarak faaliyete geçtikten sonra, bakanlığın veri toplama ve saklama ile gerekli veri ve bilginin ülkedeki 50 seçim bölgesine yayılmasına ilişkin kapasitesinin büyük ölçüde iyileşmesi sağlancaktır” denilmiştir.

SİNGAPUR, GEN HARİTASI İÇİN YENİ NESİL SİSTEM GELİŞTİRİYOR

Singapur’un  Hükümet araştırma kurumu olan ‘Bilim, Teknoloji ve Araştırma Ajansı (A*STAR) Veri Depolama Enstitüsü’ (DSİ), gen haritasının verileri için yeni nesil depolama sistemi üzerinde araştırmalar yapmak üzere Hitachi Asia Ltd ile stratejik ortaklığa girdi. A*STAR DSİ’nin yaptığı resmi bir açıklamaya göre, gen haritası verileri için yeni nesil depolama,  hastalıklı bazı genomik varyantlara ilişkin yararlı klinik bilgi ve yorumu sağlayacak.

genellikle elektronik olarak saklanan gen haritaları, veriler üzerinde çalışmak için  büyük bir depolama kapasitesi ile veri işlemek için kuvvetli hesaplama gücüne  ihtiyaç duymaktadır. İki organizasyon arasında ki bu araştırma işbirliği; yüksek performans ve düşük depolama maliyeti,  büyük miktarlardaki gen haritası verisini depolama, erişim ve yönetim başlıklarına odaklanmış durumdadır.
